Rock me Amadeus

My first Peace Corps Halloween party! Maggie was trying to be Deb from Napoleon Dynamite, but we couldn´t find a dress with big poufy sleeves. Then we tried to make sleeves f rom pink tissue paper, but that didn´t work either. So she just went for the 80´s look. I am also an 80´s girl, though someone thought I was also trying to be Deb. I guess it´s because of the side ponytail. My father was not too impressed, and told me, "That´s not much of a costume." But I am wearing legwarmers (you can barely see them in this photo), and I wore a vest, blue eyeshadow, and the side ponytail. 80´s is always my default, because I love 80´s music and movies. Oh, and the title of this blog is from my favorite 80´s song, Rock me Amadeus, by Falco. Lindsay is a Tsachila. Trent painted her and gave her a Tsachila name, Kiwi. I can´t remember what that means.

Trent´s Tsachila name is Tsa´bo, which means star. So he decided to dress as a star, which I thought was super creative and cool. He made his whole costume. The party was fun, there were volunteers from all the training groups (omnibus) and programs. The best costume was Benito´s; he was Andy from the 40 year old virgin. He had the red bike helmet and strips of waxed chest hair. There are more pictures on his blog. We (the volunteers from my omnibus) seem to be having a reunion once a month, which is nice.
